
Peter J. Millett, M.D., M.Sc.
is a Partner at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic, located in Vail,
Colorado, where he directs the shoulder service and specializes
in shoulder and knee surgery and the treatment of sports-related
orthopedic conditions. Prior to joining the Steadman Hawkins Group,
Dr. Millett practiced medicine at Brigham & Women’s
and Massachusetts General Hospitals, holding a faculty appointment
at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Millett served as Co-Director of
the Harvard Shoulder Service and the Harvard Shoulder Fellowship
program. While in Boston, he also coordinated the Musculoskeletal
Proteomics Research Group at Harvard. Dr. Millett has authored
over 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles, book chapters, and
an orthopedics review book. To date, Dr. Millett has trained over
20 fellows in shoulder surgery and sports medicine. He currently
serves as a team physician to the U.S. Ski Team and is a special
medical consultant to the Montreal Canadiens professional hockey
team. He has also served as an associate physician to the Denver
Broncos professional football team and Colorado Rockies Major
League Baseball team. Dr. Millett performed his orthopedic residency
training at the Hospital for Special Surgery where he received
the Lewis Clark Wagner Award for excellence in orthopedic research.
Dr. Millett earned his M.D. from Dartmouth Medical School, his
M.Sc. in Skeletal Biology from the University of Cambridge, and
his B.S. from the University of Scranton.
